The classic “Up & Down” by Billy More now showcases a Techno vest! Very curious rework today, as the Rave Techno genre is entering the music world with more and more revisitations of the classics, often with disappointing results.
This release by Besford, though, really impressed me for its lovely reinterpretation and the energy emanated by the bassline. It’s a great tune, out via Schmidtz Records, and today I would love to talk about it.
The catchy vocal is the king of the track, remodulated in a low tone. It’s accompanied by a strong bassline, and a Future Rave section in the second half that blew my socks off!
Besford really did a good job here: he didn’t just add a techno bassline, but there is a complete revisitation, keeping the same hard-hitting attitude, the energetic kick, and the synths melody, this time with 2024-era leads.
The final drop is even more explosive, with Techno stabs that cut through the mix like a knife through butter.
Overall, “Up & Down” manages to capture something unique: I feel it like a conversation between the track’s original spirit and the current electronic trends. Besford proves that sometimes, reinvention can be more exciting than creating something entirely new.
For fans of both classic rave and modern techno, “Up & Down” represents a perfect bridge between musical eras.
It’s the kind of rework that makes you want to hit replay immediately, discovering new layers with each listen.
