Ferreck Dawn Returns To Toolroom With ‘Serious’

Legendary House music producer Ferreck Dawn has made a return to the prominent Toolroom Records label with his latest single, ‘Serious‘. The track is a high-energy House record built around an 80s-inspired vibe, which quickly established itself as a secret weapon on dancefloors throughout the summer season.

Known for his chart-topping releases on labels Defected, Relief and Kitball, Ferreck’s productions have always garnered support from A-list DJs including Carl Cox, Mark Knight, Nic Fanciulli, Luciano, Green Velvet and Richy Ahmed. If Dawn is good at two core elements, it is powerful drums and soulful vocals. This has proven to be the ultimate combo for dancefloor success.

‘Serious’

There’s a clear nod in ‘Serious‘ to retro roots, with prominent Disco stabs and heavily reverbed snares to match the vibe. Running at 126 BPM, the record is one of those tracks you pull out to absolutely demolish. Dawn explains that the central vocal element of the track inspired him to go in time, as the original sample dates back to around 1988.

And like every Ferreck track, you can feel the groove in your bones. It’s a piece made to evoke feelings of nostalgia but also an irresistible will to move your body to the beat. And as such, we applaud both the artist, and the label, for pushing such an iconic sound back to the clubs.
