Crankdat Joins Kaskade on Dubstep Collaboration, 'A Little Bit'

Kaskade’s standout Coachella performance brought a multitude of announcements and surprises: nine IDs, confirmation of the ORIGIN // album, and appearances from a variety of special guests across the industry. Easily the most unexpected moment, however, was the premiere of ‘A Little Bit,’ a dubstep track with one of the genre’s fastest-rising stars, Crankdat. The step away from Kaskade‘s usual style, especially with a big-name collaboration, became a highly talked about segment of an already exceptional set. The long-anticipated single, ‘A Little Bit’ is out now.

The blend of Kaskade’s and Crankdat’s styles is clear: ‘A Little Bit’ combines an emotional melody and high-pitched female vocal with hard-hitting bass and blaring drops built for festival stages. The rumbling feels especially satisfying on the more drawn-out second drop, which surprises listeners with a quick switch-up, rapid vocal chops, and powerful growls. While many house artists recently started incorporating moments of bass music in their live sets, Kaskade and Crankdat’s collaboration takes things a step further as a fully original work, rather than a remix or existing popular song in the genre.

Kaskade continues his album rollout and collaborative approach to dance music with shows and festival appearances across North America and Europe, including Kx5 sets with longtime collaborator, Deadmau5. Crankdat’s schedule includes his LIV Las Vegas Residency, a five-night run in Los Angeles, and a multitude of festival sets in North America. With how busy both artists are, it’s great to be able to enjoy ‘A Little Bit’ of their work together.
