FBI Offers $15k Reward for Information Regarding Electric Forest Infant Death

New developments have emerged in the tragic case of a newborn child whose body was discovered within a portable restroom at the Electric Forest Music Festival in Rothbury, Michigan. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has officially joined the investigation into the infant’s death, signaling a significant escalation in the search for answers.

Federal authorities are now offering a reward of up to $15,000 for any information that leads to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the individual or individuals responsible for this crime. The discovery was initially made on June 28, 2026, by an employee of the restroom vending company during routine maintenance on the final day of the festival.

Investigation Updates and Official Response

Authorities have determined that the baby was born alive and would have survived under different circumstances. While the investigation remains ongoing and many specific details are being withheld to protect the integrity of the case, officials have confirmed that they are actively pursuing leads. Previously, investigators followed a tip regarding a festival attendee, but the FBI has since cleared that individual from the suspect list after she cooperated fully with law enforcement.

The FBI Detroit Field Office is now working in tandem with the Michigan State Police to utilize forensic science and investigative resources to identify the perpetrator. Authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity or who possesses relevant information to come forward. Tips can be submitted by contacting the Michigan State Police at 855-MICH-TIP or through their official online portal.
