Michael Canitrot and Yana Mann are joining forces for ‘Diamond,’ an elegant new collaboration arriving on Purified Records. The release marks Canitrot’s debut with the record label as he continues building a distinct brand blending electronic music and visual art.
Michael Canitrot’s Monumental Sound
French DJ and producer Michael Canitrot has developed a distinctive identity that operates beyond the confines of sound alone. His Monumental Tour has taken his concept of merging music with architecture to some of the world’s most recognizable landmarks. This includes the Eiffel Tower, the Notre-Dame de Paris and, more recently, the Statue of Liberty.
Rather than simply presenting electronic music in a traditional club setting, Canitrot’s Monumental Tour places his performances within historic environments. This artistic approach pairs well with ‘Diamond,’ a track that feels designed for such occasions. The song features Mann’s classical vocal background that seems to harbor a haunting quality, drawing the listener in as the layers behind it swell and lead into a mesmerizing drop. One can only imagine how well this melodic, orchestral atmosphere would sound on the Monumental Tour as Mann’s voice graces a larger-than-life setting.
Beyond the track’s production, the artwork mirrors Canitrot’s connection to wondrous landscapes by featuring a striking photograph of broken ice on Diamond Beach in Iceland. Photographed by Adi Albulescu, the frozen formation is a strikingly beautiful natural wonder to appreciate and protect. ‘Diamond’ also marks an important new chapter between Canitrot and Purified Records. Founded by Nora En Pure, Purified has developed into a platform centered around melodic electronic music while expanding through its record label and global event series. Canitrot’s atmospheric production and Mann’s vocals make this track a fitting addition to the label’s catalog.
