It’s been a whirlwind week for Ultra Music Festival enthusiasts and organizers. After the Miami Herald reported earlier this week that the iconic festival’s 2020 iteration had been postponed over growing coronavirus concerns, the City of Miami has issued an official statement that the festival will be postponed until March of 2021.
“Due to the Florida Governor’s declaration of a public health emergency and Centers of Disease Control and Prevention’s Interim Guidance for COVID-19, it is impossible for the City to provide access to Bayfront Park at this time,” the March 6 announcement reads.
The announcement goes on to apologize to those who have already made travel plans and notes that “all ticket purchasers will be contacted by email on Monday regarding next steps.”
