With all respect to the production duty from DJ WZRD, the main element here is the use of vocals. “Can’t Believe It” is a gorgeous Future Rave record from DJ WZRD’s independent label, which I decided to review since it resonated with me in a surprising way. The configuration follows the usual FR schematics, with a dark bassline, a solid melodic progression, and clever build-ups to equip for the climax.
It’s in the breakdown, however, that the vocal has a delightful tone with an emotional female vocalist interacting with a slower progression of leads. Here, the American moniker mastered the section, and as I put it on repeat mode, the dynamism fascinated me. The drop then thwarts with a very entertaining melody, even if I would have preferred something more innovative here to render “Can’t Believe It” completely remarkable.
In its entirety, the said alias delivered a positive experience, and as a Future Rave fan, I have to commend his idea. Using vocals in an effective way and simultaneously creation drops that work is a rarer skill these days.
