We’ve been blessed for about a week with this highly sought-after Coachella ID.
The iconic Trance trio Above & Beyond have done it again. A month into the release of their latest (excellent) album, Bigger Than All Of Us, the club mix of its title track, which features the voice of Electronic music that is Justine Suissa, has finally come out. It’s basically an entirely new song, since the album version is a Downtempo piece, and this reimagination allows it to be able to shine at large festivals.
And speaking of large festivals, the club mix was first showcased during the band’s recent set at Coachella 2025 (where all three boys performed, mind you), and it quickly became a fan favourite. Written with longtime collaborator Justine Suissa, also one-fourth of their golden project OceanLab, the song was sparked by a set of chords discovered by Jono Grant during a studio session.
“Justine really liked and connected with them”, Jono says. “She tends to write pretty fast, and her words come together quickly”. This was some odd years ago, and the song sat on a digital shelf somewhere, until the album team rediscovered it and saw its value. This team included people such as Above & Beyond, Dave Dresden, and PROFF, among many others, so if these many heads align on an opinion, the track truly had potential.
Living in volatile times is nothing new, but I believe that if we understand the power we wield as individuals, then maybe we can also appreciate the possibility of effecting extraordinary change as a collective. If I can be instrumental in that change through a simple melody and a handful of words, then I am grateful beyond measure. Being a songwriter is an incredible privilege, and so is working with Above & Beyond and being able to speak to such a loving and receptive audience.

Above & Beyond — Bigger Than All Of Us (Club Mix)
For what we know, the club mix of this beautiful song was born, in part, thanks to that Coachella gig. The idea of road-testing the reception of the idea of the title track made it a necessity to create a spin that would camouflage itself pretty well on the dancefloor, hence, this six-and-a-half-minute version came to life.
We decided that ‘Bigger Than All of Us’ would be the title track because we thought it would connect with fans in a sort of classic Above & Beyond sense, so even though it’s a downtempo song, we wanted to make sure a version of it was in the Coachella set – so we made a club mix for it that ended up being one of the most powerful moments in the set.

And morphing a Downtempo tune into a club wonder would be a hard task normally, but not for A&B. Bathed in their usual dry, choppy saws theme they’ve been doing for the last years, the signature elements of the original track are all present: the delicate melody, Justine’s calm, honest voice, and the silence and stripped-back nature of the break is respected and preserved. But alongside it, there’s also something I don’t see people talking about enough: a clever reference to ‘Prelude’, one of the most beautiful tracks ever produced by Above & Beyond. See if you can spot it.
