ADE Announces New COVID-Proof Seated Concerts

As some of you know, the Amsterdam Dance Event along with many other festivals and concerts will not be happening this year due to COVID-19. Festival season has been in a downward spiral since March, but ADE has us covered. Since the cancellation of the 2020 virtual Amsterdam Dance Event, the Amsterdam City Council and ADE have been working hard to create new COVID-proof seated concerts.

ADE has created a series of COVID-proof seated concerts that will take place throughout Amsterdam. The statement states, “The ADE team has worked hard to be able to deliver the best possible ADE experience while ensuring public health and government guidelines. In doing so, we have collaborated closely with the city council and the city’s venues to host a balanced series ADE Specials throughout Amsterdam. The first confirmed participating venues include Bimhuis, Concertgebouw, Melkweg, Paradiso, and Paradiso Noord. More venues will be announced throughout the coming weeks, as well as the full program and ticket info.”

The ADE is also going to present a virtual celebration of dance culture for music and dance enthusiasts. It will include DJ sets, artist talks, studio tours, film programs, masterclasses, and more. ADE will release information to the public on both events soon.

In pre-coronavirus times, the ADE festival brought in over 2,000 artists and about 400,000 guests across 200 different venues. Unfortunately, things have changed, but ADE knows this event is special and wants to make sure that their new format will give attendees the experience they deserve.

For now, we have to wait and see what a “COVID-Proof” event looks like. We’re sure no matter what they come up with the fans will love it. Who knows, maybe these new re-structured events will help get the festival scene back up and running. We for one hope that happens.
