Anjunadeep Returned to its ‘Spiritual Home’ on New Year’s Eve

Oh, the irony of witnessing the setting sun by the shores with some Anjunadeep churned out in the background! The added incentive of witnessing this on the global label’s return to its ‘spiritual home’ is something to bask in. It does not end here. The winner takes all when this happens on a New Year’s Eve and the setting sun you witness is the last one of 2024. Goa, India testified exactly the same on the 31st of December, 2024 leading into the first sunrise of 2025. The renowned Thalassa in Ashvem Beach was the harbor of this miracle occurrence.

The melancholy of the deeper, progressive synths binding the air through the shores was evidently palpable. The likes of Anjunadeep mainstays Nox Vahn and 16 BL with their ingenious and stirring soundscapes have expectedly mesmerized the ones in attendance. Gracing the decks also was Anjunadeep veteran PROFF, who also serves as Anjunadeep’s studio head of production. His magical rendition of Orbital’s ‘Halycon’ was something to cherish. It set the tone for the magical evening to its glory.

Ringing in the New Year with his brand of smooth & mellow harmony is UK based producer, Catching Flies. Local Anjunadeep hero, Parallel Voices, is the one responsible for deck duties while the last sun of 2024 sunk in. In comes the ‘dark lord of Anjunadeep’, Nox Vahn, with his grade of deep, shadowy riffs dominating the atmosphere as we approached 2025. 16BL (Ariaan Olieroock) rounded off the proceedings before an impromptu B2B with PROFF.

As Nox summarised, ‘this was the place to be’ on a New Year. A perfect backdrop of the setting sun in the evening. A seamless transition into 2025 with the aura of Anjunadeep combined with the waves crashing into the sand. Nothing to wish for more, nothing augurs better. A sense of satisfaction to the soul into the first sunrise of 2025.

And a feeling of fulfilment of watching it unfold all live, at Anjunadeep’s own ‘spiritual home’.
