Athens is stepping up its game on the global festival stage. Primer Music Festival, recently ranked #42 in DJ Mag’s Top 100 Festivals, has just dropped its full 2025 lineup—and it’s nothing short of epic. Now hosted at the iconic Olympic Athletic Center of Athens (OAKA), Primer is proving why it’s the beating heart of Greece’s booming electronic music scene.
This year’s edition brings together a powerful mix of global headliners, cutting-edge artists, and local favorites. With names like Armin van Buuren, Boris Brejcha, Alesso, Faithless (Live), and Purple Disco Machine on the bill, Primer is setting a new standard for the European summer festival circuit.
The weekend kicks off with Primer’s resident DJ Maus, opening both days and setting the tone with high-energy sets designed to ignite the crowd early. From there, Saturday’s festivities shift to the brand-new Helios Stage, debuting in 2025, where local duo MĪMĪ x FY and disco powerhouse Purple Disco Machine will take early control of the decks.
As the sun sets, the music evolves. AMÉMÉ and ARTBAT lead the way into lush, spiritual grooves and melodic techno journeys that promise to take the crowd deeper. Headlining the Helios Stage is none other than trance legend Armin van Buuren, whose signature blend of uplifting energy and timeless anthems will close out the night in unforgettable fashion.
Across the grounds, the Lunar Stage offers an entirely different journey. German techno heavyweight Boris Brejchaheadlines with his high-tech minimal sound. Supporting acts include Italian melodic techno duo Fideles, Greek trance icon Hi Profile, breakout artist Afshin Momandi, and local favorite Kalamo, who will keep the energy going well into the early hours.
The party continues on Sunday with a revamped energy, where fans at the Helios Stage will be treated to timeless live sets from Faithless (Live) and Paul Kalkbrenner (Live) before a headlining performance from none other than Alesso. Living up to its multi-genre promise, Sunday also brings an undeniable dose of rhythm with afro-house star Massumaand the new wave house and techno sounds of SKINNY both taking the stage.
