Basic-Fit Turns Amsterdam Gym Into Dancefloor for ADE

Amsterdam Dance Event has partnered with an unlikely name for its 30th anniversary edition: a gym chain. Basic-Fit, Europe’s largest fitness operator, is joining ADE 2026 as an official partner, and the collaboration centers on turning one of its Amsterdam locations into a dancefloor for a morning club experience headlined by Surinamese-Dutch DJ and producer CARISTA.

The idea taps into a growing trend in nightlife where people are swapping last call for early wake-up calls, finding community in a workout instead of at the bar. CARISTA, who balances a demanding schedule of international flights, gym sessions, and late-night sets, embodies this shift. Basic-Fit is leaning into this movement with an event built around its core values of accessibility and inclusivity.

On Saturday, October 24, Basic-Fit will convert its Stadhouderskade club in Amsterdam into an intimate dancefloor for the first edition of Feel Good Club, a new morning event blending music, movement, and community. Running from 10:00 to 13:00, the event is free and open to everyone, though pre-registration is required through the official Basic-Fit website.

CARISTA headlines the lineup, bringing her signature sound into a room usually reserved for treadmills and free weights. Rather than closing out a night on the dancefloor, attendees are invited to open their ADE Saturday there instead—a reversal of the traditional festival routine that Basic-Fit and ADE are positioning as a fresh way to experience the event’s 30th anniversary.

The partnership extends beyond a single morning session. All 250 Basic-Fit clubs across the Netherlands will open their doors free of charge to ADE Pass holders throughout the week, turning what could have been a one-off activation into a nationwide access point for festival attendees.

“Partnering with Amsterdam Dance Event gives us an exciting opportunity to bring together two worlds that are increasingly connected: music and wellbeing,” said Erica van Vonderen-Hahn, CCO of Basic-Fit. “With this event, we’re creating a space for people to experience the collective energy of music and movement, while staying true to what Basic-Fit stands for: making fitness accessible, social, and part of people’s everyday lives.”

Jorinde Boom, Head of Partnerships at ADE, framed the collaboration as part of a broader conversation happening across the festival’s 1,200-plus events this year. “Maintaining a healthy balance between the physical and mental demands of our industry is becoming increasingly important,” Boom noted. “This collaboration with Basic-Fit brings those two worlds together, connecting entertainment and wellbeing through music and movement in a completely different setting.”

For CARISTA, the pairing reflects her personal lifestyle. “Music and movement have always been connected for me,” she said. “DJing and touring are physical, and training has become an important part of how I take care of myself and stay grounded alongside everything I do as an artist. Starting an ADE Saturday on a dancefloor in a gym is definitely a new one for me, and that’s exactly what makes it fun.”

Pre-registration for Feel Good Club featuring CARISTA is open now through Basic-Fit’s official ADE page.
