Beautiful things happened this week regarding the corner of Dance music I’m all for: songs with a soul, with a purpose, with a meaning that lies beyond the melodies. And in that same line we’re happy to share yet another nugget of bliss that saw the light recently: ‘Believe In Me‘, a collaboration between the wise BiXX and the unmistakable Susana.
Alabama-bound BiXX (Robert Bickert) is a rising star in the Uplifting Trance scene. We spoke with this DJ, producer, mentor, and entrepreneur last year, and we’re happy to have his sound back again on EDMTunes. And Susana, well, Susana… you absolutely know who she is. Armin van Buuren’s ‘Shivers‘? She voiced that classic. RAM’s ‘RAMelia‘? It was her who made you cry to that tribute. She really needs no introduction, for she is one of the most iconic voices of Trance.
‘Believe In Me’
Two masters of the art of music join forces for ‘Believe In Me’, a track out via Black Hole. A heartfelt tribute to the transformative power of belief, support, and self-confidence, it serves as a lead single and offers a glimpse into BiXX’s upcoming album, The Voice of Reason, blending emotive storytelling with uplifting melodies.
The collaboration between both is rooted deeply within their personal spaces and experiences. For BiXX, the song began as an introspective journey following his father’s passing in 2023. “My father believed in me before I ever believed in myself“, he says. “That confidence he gave me allowed me to push further and achieve more than I could have imagined“.
He then connected with Susana, whose emotional delivery he admired, particularly due to the way ‘Shivers’ marked him. Susana also found a personal connection to the project: “The lyrics came from a conversation BiXX and I had about the importance of people who believe in you. I could immediately relate, thinking about my own parents and how their constant support has shaped my confidence and career“.
