When the tragic fire took down the gorgeous Orbyz mainstage in July 2025, one of the issues that came up was what would happen in Brazil for 2026. Tomorrowland Brazil always features the previous year’s mainstage from Belgium. With no Orbyz stage to ship over for 2026, the festival is in a bind. Now, Tomorrowland Brasil will not take place in 2026, and will be postponed to April or May 2027, says festival CEO Bruno Vanwelsenaers in an exclusive interview with VEJA (a major Brazilian media outlet). The postponement follows a destructive fire in Belgium that destroyed the festival’s main stage, known as Orbyz, jeopardizing the timing and logistics for its use in Brazil according to VEJA.
“It’s not possible to hold the 2026 edition here with the time we have after the Belgian one”
In response to our inquiry, Tomorrowland issued the following official statement confirming the reports:
In October 2025, Tomorrowland Brasil will proudly celebrate its 5th edition, themed LIFE. During this special edition, we will also share an important update: there will be no Tomorrowland Brasil in 2026. Instead, the next edition is scheduled for early 2027 – spring in Europe, autumn in Brazil.
This is not a cancellation, but a postponement. Tomorrowland Brasil is here to stay. We believe deeply in Brazil, in Itu, and in the People of Tomorrow who gather here with so much passion and love.
The shift from late 2026 to early 2027 is due to two reasons. First, after the unfortunate stage fire in Belgium this summer, Tomorrowland is currently without its MainStage. ORBYZ, the 2025 stage, was originally planned to travel to Brazil, but this is no longer possible. This unexpected setback forced us to go back to the drawing board – literally and figuratively – to reimagine our stage setup and global planning.Second, 2026 will be an exceptionally busy year with several international projects and new expansions, making the global production calendar extremely complex. To safeguard the creativity, high quality, and flawless organization Tomorrowland stands for, we decided to give Tomorrowland Brasil a little more time and return in 2027, stronger than ever. Our goal remains to grow Tomorrowland Brasil in a sustainable way – with continuity, with love, and always with deep respect for our Brazilian community.
Tomorrowland Brasil has already become a landmark in Latin America, and we are committed for the long term. By taking this short pause, we ensure that when we return in 2027, it will be with even more magic, comfort, and unforgettable moments.

In July 2025, a fire broke out at the Orbyz stage in Belgium, the elaborate “glacial palace” main stage with extensive set design and structural features. The Orbyz stage is shipped by boat to Brazil for Tomorrowland Brasil. Because the structure was destroyed, there simply isn’t enough time to rebuild or replace it ahead of a 2026 edition. Reading between the lines, it would appear that Tomorrowland Brazil 2026 will not take place, and Tomorrowland Brazil 2027 will be moved up and feature the Tomorrowland Belgium 2026 stage. It’s unclear whether Tomorrowland Brazil would return to an October date for 2028.
2025 Event Still On Track
- Tomorrowland Brasil 2025 will go ahead as scheduled October 10-12, at Parque Maeda in Itu, Brazil, using the same structure that was deployed in Belgium the previous year.
- Organizers forecast 180,000 electronic music fans in attendance, with a reported investment of US$25 million, about 20% higher than in the previous year.
What This Means for the Future
- With the big Belgian stage destroyed, organizers say it’s not feasible to prepare a new structure and transport it in time for a 2026 Brazil edition. Hence the postponement to April or May 2027.
- Despite delays and logistical challenges, Tomorrowland Brasil has vowed to make the 2025 edition “the best in history” for Brazil.
- The editorship also notes that previous editions have faced weather-related disruptions, especially heavy rain. Organisers have invested around R$30 million in access improvements at Parque Maeda. VEJA
Context
- Tomorrowland Brasil first ran in 2015, but due to various reasons, including the collapse of its Brazilian business partner SFX Entertainment and the global COVID-19 pandemic, editions between 2017-2022 didn’t occur.
- The hiatus now from 2025 to 2027 represents a nearly two-year gap between editions for the first time.
