Chris Lake has returned to our ears with another standout release. ‘Psycho’ is the fourth and final single before his debut album, Chemistry, on Black Book Records. ‘Psycho’ is one of the heaviest tracks from the album. It’s an eerie club record that leans into Chris Lake’s darker, more intense sound, further pushing the boundaries of his signature house sound.
The track has already become a fan-favorite ID from recent sets, already making appearances during Chris Lake’s Day Zero performance at Coachella, during the surprise back-to-back set with FISHER in Australia and garnering support from tastemakers like Cloonee and Chris Lorenzo. Driven by a heavy bassline, catchy vocals, and sharp beats, ‘Psycho’ delivers an energy perfect for peak-time moments on the dancefloor. Chris had this to say:
“This is definitely one of the darker tracks I made,” says Chris Lake. “Psycho is a track I’ve had a blast testing with the crowds. I wanted to lean into that darker, grittier side of my sound with this one.”
Following ‘Ease My Mind’ with Abel Balder, ‘In My Head’ featuring Amber Mark, and ‘Savana,’ ‘Psycho’ adds a harder edge to the Chemistry rollout. Where previous singles explored melody and groove, this one hits with pure impact. Adding to the momentum, Chris Lake recently unveiled the full 15-song tracklist for Chemistry, revealing a highly anticipated collaboration with electronic music icon Bonobo, titled Falling featuring Alexis Roberts. Roberts previously appeared on the global hit ‘Turn Off The Lights,’ raising expectations for this new team-up even higher.
Chemistry is a genre-pushing body of work that blends infectious grooves with deep emotional textures. In addition to Bonobo, the album features Yael Watchman, Black Lotus, Aatig, Kelly Lee Owens, MPH, Riovaz, and more. The title track Chemistry featuring Vera Blue promises to be a centerpiece moment. With four singles now released, the full picture of Chemistry is beginning to take shape, setting the tone for what’s expected to be one of the defining electronic albums of the summer.
