House music DJ/producer icon Chris Lake has officially released his highly anticipated remix of The Chemical Brothers‘ hit tune, ‘Galvanize.’ The remix marks the 20th anniversary of the original, showcasing Chris Lake’s signature stripped-down, groovy tech house style by morphing the classic big beat anthem into a modern dance floor weapon.
The Chemical Brothers released ‘Galvanize’ in 2005 as the lead single to their fifth studio album, Push The Button, which was met with immediate critical acclaim and won a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording the following year. Driven by Q-Tip’s iconic vocals and a hypnotic Moroccan Chaabi string sample, the track became one of the duo’s most well-known and beloved cuts. Lake’s remix keeps these distinctive elements front and center, but they’re sped and pitched up to fit snugly over a relentless four-on-the-floor groove. In the second half of the track, the tempo dips back toward the original’s eerie, slow burn pacing before erupting into a climactic peak time drop that feels tailor-made for the dance floor.
Chris Lake released his debut album, Chemistry, in July of this year, and is in the middle of his tour spanning the UK and North America. Find out more here.
