Damien Lazarus Bewitches With New Album Magickal

We’re in for a mystical trip! British tastemaker and Crosstown Rebels label lead Damien Lazarus brings out the unique and delicious album Magickal, out now. The DJ aligned the release of the album the same week as his popular Tulum destination festival Day Zero, to introduce attendees to his new era. Not only did he wash out his entire social media feed, but also recruited the likes of Jem Cooke, rising Spanish DJ Duo Mestiza, Duck Sauce’s A-Trak, and more.

Magickal

Known for his esotheric grooves and spellbinding textures, the artist showcases ten tracks that mark a new chapter in his career. Newly sober, Lazarus is exceeding the full extent of his creativity through his new sounds. Experimental, yet cohesive, Magickal lifts up the magic of the dancing communal experience. Tracks like ‘So Low’ with Zoe Kypri, and ‘Searchin” with Jem Cooke, place ethereal vocals at the forefront, invoking inspiring rhythms onto the dancefloor.

Other tracks like ‘Alive’ feauturing the Bloom Twins and ‘Y Dont U’ take a minimal yet powerful approach. Damien Lazarus takes listeners from underground House to breakbeats, amapiano to flamenco. In addition, it delivers a fantastic blend of genres that release your worries and your stress. Today, Lazarus will host an album launch party in Tulum tonight, as he prepares for another 18-hour Day Zero Rave. He has been producing since 2012, so expect a very special surprise sunrise b2b.

The name of the LP isn’t the only magical element of this era. Lazarus will bring out renowed magician DEKAY to join him for a few select dates to perform street magic and illusions to the crowd. Imagine this, you, me, us, sunrise set in a jungle in Tulum celebrating life and the magic of music.

Let this release be a ritual, a mythological celebration, this is Magickal:
