Dion Timmer has unveiled the latest single from his forthcoming debut album Very Extra II: Enter Achroma. Titled “Companion,” the new track combines the respect forces of the Dutch producer with Canadian trio The Arcturians in a glimmering display of melodic bass. The two modern acts previously collaborated on “Cyan” from Timmer’s 2017 Textacy EP and on “The Best Of Me” from the dubstep don’s 2018 double EP Very Extra. The 14-track Enter Achroma will act as the sequel to the 10-track Very Extra and is set for release later this year Deadbeats.
Following “Sanctuary,” “Companion” finds its sonics intertwined in luminescence and futuristic accents as bright synths and cinematic themes orient its production. Lead singer Alicia Gregori’s vocals inject hope as waves of bass, vocal chops, and chiming bells coalesce to create a lush pictorial. Deriving multi-genre inspiration, “Companion” illustrates a beacon of light in its grandiose depiction of otherworldly soundscapes.
