DJ Brand Giants Launch OneLibrary, A Unified Music Library Format

djay Pro now supports USB Export, and Traktor Play and Traktor Pro 4 will follow soon, enabling DJ performances on the CDJ-3000X, CDJ-3000, XDJ-AZ, and more

The DJ world is about to become more open. As part of its ongoing commitment to the sustainable growth of DJ culture and a more open industry environment, AlphaTheta has been actively collaborating with other manufacturers on an exciting new initiative. In a key step forward, the company has worked with multiple leading DJ equipment and software makers to jointly develop OneLibrary – a unified music library format that works with software and hardware from different brands.

We’re thrilled to launch OneLibrary, a step forward in making creative expression more seamless for DJs everywhere. At AlphaTheta, our mission is to empower DJs to express themselves freely, without limitations. We’re grateful to our industry partners for sharing that vision and coming on board with this initiative. And this is just the start – so stay tuned

-Yoshinori Kataoka, President and CEO of AlphaTheta Corporation

Until now, differences in library formats across brands could limit DJs to specific software and hardware, which often meant they might not be able to access their personal music libraries or use USB devices on all the equipment available at a venue. OneLibrary addresses this by standardizing essential DJ performance data – such as playlists, cue points, and beatgrids – across compatible platforms. This shared library format gives DJs far greater flexibility, with the option to play their music on a wider range of equipment, from performing with a computer at home to using USB drives at venues.

At Algoriddim, we’ve always embraced open, accessible DJ technology that empowers creativity. Collaborating with AlphaTheta on OneLibrary aligns perfectly with our mission to remove barriers in the DJ ecosystem. By allowing users to export djay Pro’s library for direct use on pro hardware like the CDJ-3000X, CDJ-3000, or the XDJ-AZ, we’re giving DJs the flexibility to perform seamlessly across setups – whether at home, in the club, or on stage.

djay Pro, Traktor Play, and Traktor Pro 4 support OneLibrary via USB Export

What began as AlphaTheta’s Device Library Plus has evolved into OneLibrary through collaboration with other manufacturers. Thanks to the collaboration with Algoriddim and Native Instruments, OneLibrary now allows DJs to export their music libraries for seamless use across djay Pro and Traktor software. djay Pro supports USB Export today, with Traktor Play and Traktor Pro 4 support due in upcoming updates.

DJ hardware compatible with OneLibrary

  • CDJ-3000X
  • CDJ-3000 (requires firmware version 3.30 or later)
  • XDJ-AZ
  • OPUS-QUAD
  • OMNIS-DUO

The exported DJ library includes all essential DJ performance data, such as playlists, BPM, key information, cue points, beatgrids, and waveform data. This means that even if DJs use djay Pro, Traktor Play, or Traktor Pro 4, DJs can perform with just a USB drive – no laptop is needed. AlphaTheta has conducted compatibility testing on this.

* Traktor Play and Traktor Pro 4 are scheduled to support OneLibrary in the coming months.

A future where every DJ can play more freely

OneLibrary compatibility will continue expanding to include more software and hardware, with the aim of providing DJs with a seamless way to use their personal music libraries. The prospect of DJs having the freedom to use their libraries with any software and at any venue is becoming more realistic. AlphaTheta is committed to collaborating with the entire DJ industry to establish OneLibrary as the next-generation standard.

Everything we do at Native Instruments is about inspiring and enabling creators to express themselves through sound. OneLibrary is a big step toward a more open and collaborative DJ ecosystem – where music moves as freely as the people who play it. We’re proud to be an early partner with AlphaTheta in this initiative, and to bring seamless USB export not only to Traktor Pro 4 users worldwide, but also to new DJs starting out on Traktor Play.
