Australian superstar Dom Dolla has just solidified his status as a global powerhouse, making history as the very first recipient of the ARIA Global Impact Award, presented by Spotify!
This brand-new, highly prestigious award was created to celebrate Australian recording artists who have achieved “outstanding breakthrough international success and cultural influence.” Considering the year Dom Dolla has had—which includes over 1.5 billion global streams, two sold-out nights at Madison Square Garden, and a massive residency at Hï Ibiza—it’s clear why the Melbourne-raised producer was chosen as the inaugural winner.
Flying the Flag for Aussie Dance Music
The award recognizes Dom Dolla’s unparalleled momentum over the past year, which saw him rack up headlining festival slots at major events like Lollapalooza Chicago, Creamfields UK, and Austin City Limits. He also became the first solo electronic artist to grace the cover of Rolling Stone AU/NZ, where he also won the magazine’s “Global Award.”
Dom Dolla expressed his gratitude, stating, “I really try to do my best to fly the flag for Aussie dance music overseas so I’m so grateful. Australian music is the best, the talent and output across the board is incredible.”
The award is the first to be handed out as part of the 2025 ARIA Awards, where Dom Dolla is also up for a massive seven additional trophies, including Best Solo Artist and Best Dance/Electronic Release.
This historic win not only honors Dom Dolla’s exceptional work but also highlights the explosive global momentum of Australian electronic music—a scene that is clearly setting the world’s dancefloor agenda.
