From the 90s to your doorstep, no stopovers required.
It’s always a good day when two legends join forces for a tasteful collaboration. This time, it’s the turn of two Armada Music pillars, Ferry Corsten and Ruben de Ronde, who have come together as their joint alias NRG2000 to provide listeners with an electrifying, rave-ready collaboration, ‘Rise Up‘.
The Dutch artists have both had a significant impact on Electronic music: While Corsten is a veteran of the scene, known for shaping the sound of Trance in the 1990s and 2000s under aliases like System F and Gouryella, de Ronde is a prominent figure in the modern Progressive and Trance scenes, known for his atmospheric sound, his record label Statement!, and for co-hosting Armin’s ASOT radioshow.
‘Rise Up’
Packed with energy and saw waves, ‘Rise Up’ is an excellent reenactment of the late 90s and early 2000s in modern times. With a rave focus that steers away from engulfing atmospheres and tear-inducing melodies, this track is pure energy on the dancefloor. A secret weapon for when the lasers need to shine.
With the use of pointy saw waves, harmonies, 909 drumkit percussion and acid basslines, this tune is able to replicate what was, at one point, the core sound you’d hear in every European club going out. Following the line of the NRG2000 alias, the boys expand the recent homage to a truly golden era of Electronic music.
