Finn Forte comes in strong with this one. “One Moment” is a track that really stood out

• Sweet clash of textures
• The sax is telling a story
• Surprising percussions

I genuinely liked this release from Canadian producer Finn Forte, part of his debut album “Loss”. “One Moment” is the first single, and it feels already like a very personal chapter in his journey. If this is just the start, I’m already hyped to hear what’s next. It’s a deep house tune that grabbed me with its intimacy and emotional weight: definitely one that opens your eyes in a subtle, powerful way.

The saxophone is the star of the show here, but don’t expect the usual happy, jazzy sax vibe. This one is more introspective, slow, and calm, blending beautifully with the bassline. Knowing that the song (and the album from what I gather) is about the end of a 17-year relationship, this melancholy tone fits perfectly. The piano adds some groove and warmth, and when the drop hits, it feels a bit more vivid and lively. Still, there’s this underlying sadness that slowly seeps through, giving the whole track a delicate emotional edge.

The vocals caught my attention too, carrying a bit of that old-school 90’s retro vibe. The lead lean towards tropical house at moments, adding a breezy touch that contrasts with the more somber sax and bass. What’s interesting is the percussion: some of it is surprisingly warm for a track that’s otherwise so smooth and reflective, adding a summerish touch to the drop section. That little clash of textures makes the song feel fresh without losing its emotional core.

Finn Forte’s plan is to release a new chapter every month, and I’m really looking forward to what’s next. These upcoming chapters will dive into themes like rediscovering self-love, the pure joy of dancing, and most importantly, closure. Judging by “One Moment,” this project promises a real journey through feelings many of us can relate to but don’t often hear expressed so honestly in deep house.

If this first single is any indication, Finn Forte is an artist to watch. I’m definitely staying tuned for the next chapters.
