[Interview] Eric Bindman, Director of Operations at Prodigy Artists Talks Agency Strategy, New Role, and Artist Updates

Back in October, powerhouse music management company Prodigy Artists announced Eric Bindman as their new Director of Operations.

Bindman, a seasoned industry veteran, has been an integral part of the Prodigy Artists team for over two years, serving as a Senior Manager for artists such as Audien, Elephante, Niiko x Swae, and Mattilo. With a 15-year career spanning talent buying, touring, publishing, marketing, and logistics, Eric is multi-faceted in all aspects of the industry. Prior to his tenure at Prodigy Artists, he tour managed renowned artists including Deorro, Two Friends, Gareth Emery, 3LAU, Vicetone, Yung Bae, and Haywyre.

EDMTunes had the opportunity to speak to Eric and gather his insights on the industry, learn about his new role at Prodigy, and hear about what’s going on with some of the artists he manages.

Congratulations on your promotion to Director of Operations! Can you tell us a bit about your journey at Prodigy Artists and what led to this promotion?

Thank you! Absolutely; since I can remember I’ve always been very detail oriented. Originally I joined Prodigy Artists as a Senior Manager and I’m grateful for the founding partners’ trust in me to help run and scale the business.

What got you into Electronic Dance Music in the first place?

I got into Electronic Dance Music in University. I originally wanted to be a photographer growing up and I started touring with some friends who were musicians and covering events. That’s how I fell in love with the energy at the shows. There’s always this great collective energy and passion from the crowds that you can feel.

In your new role as Director of Operations, what are your primary responsibilities and how do you plan to contribute to the agency’s continued growth?

As I continue entering my new role as Director of Operations; I’m focused on supporting the future growth and expansion plans for the company as well as continuing to ensure that the resources we require are instilled. This means making sure Prodigy Artists’ artists and teams have the resources they need to operate and scale their own respective businesses. My focus is also the continued focus on scaling up operations and expanding the company’s reach. We have some really exciting signings that will be announced soon 🙂

What are the biggest challenges and opportunities facing talent management agencies today? How is Prodigy Artists positioned to navigate these challenges and capitalize on these opportunities?

As the nightclub landscape changes and moves away from built-in club nights and protected evenings, artists have to evolve. Soft tickets are becoming harder by the quarter; so it’s that much more important to double down and develop your core fan base. The clubbing circuit is drastically changing, it’s important to build your hard ticket history. And here at Prodigy, we have been championing building hard ticket tours and helping acts build themselves in this new landscape.

What is Prodigy Artists’ approach to artist development and how do you help your artists build their careers and achieve long-term success?

At Prodigy we have a great team with the expertise to be nimble and resourceful to tackle any challenges that may arise. To ensure the long-term success of our artists, we support our clients through artist management, touring and event planning, publishing, social media marketing, accounting and financial management, and more.

What are some wins you’re proud of that you’ve achieved with the prodigy artists that you manage?

Some recent wins that I’m extremely excited about are our continued work on Audien, Elephante and NIIKO X SWAE. Audien is continuing to be the torch bearer with Progressive House Never Died and is working on some huge collaborations and some major headline touring wins in 2025. Elephante is also doing some amazing work and had his new album COPE just released to much fanfare and editorial support.

What is your favorite moment so far from your time at Prodigy Artists?

One of my favorite moments was the Prodigy Artists Miami Music Party from last year. It was a huge celebration of some of the great things our clients were doing at the time with many of the artists from our roster playing and industry friends gathering. That was also a special evening for me on the personal side – so all in all, it was a culmination of a ton of awesome things!

What are some of your goals for 2025? (Can be both personally or professionally at Prodigy Artists)

I would say my main goals are to continue the successes and momentum from this past year. I look forward to honing in on building my business and of course continuing to support the future growth and expansion plans for Prodigy Artists, especially in this new role.

What exciting plans do your artists have coming up in 2025 that you can share?

There are a lot of exciting plans with our artists! As I mentioned, Audien has so many big shows coming up for his 2025. Elephante looks to continue his vision and mission of providing a platform for the AAPI community through his music as well as the debut of his live tour in Q1. There’s a ton of exciting things in the works that I also can’t divulge!
