Eight-time GRAMMY®-nominated producer, DJ, and electronic music pioneer Kaskade unveils undux, his long-awaited new studio album arriving December 4 via Arkade x Monstercat. The project marks one of the most introspective, vulnerable, and creatively expansive chapters of his career – a return to the storytelling format that shaped his earliest work, built through a period of personal upheaval, emotional honesty, and renewed artistic intention.
After years of releasing singles tailored for the streaming era, undux represents a deliberate shift back toward album craft. Kaskade describes this era of creation as a reconnection with the narrative format he has always loved, sharing:
I have always enjoyed the process of making an album. Set aside some time, get together with some friends and make music. It always felt like telling a story with chapters and verse… Less emphasis on the crescendo but really trying to convey an entire mood or idea.

The road to undux began with several attempts to restart the album process – sessions that didn’t feel honest, and periods where life’s personal challenges made creation difficult. Instead of forcing it, he stepped back. It wasn’t until this past summer, when he allowed himself to fully embrace what he was feeling, that the music finally began to take shape. What emerged was an album rooted in hope, vulnerability, and the quiet truth that comes from allowing emotion to lead the way.
The early pieces of the album revealed themselves throughout the fall. On October 16, Kaskade released the era’s opening singles – the euphoric ‘DNCR‘ and the reflective ‘Imprint‘. Together, they introduced the emotional tone of the project: rediscovery, surrender, and the marks memory leaves behind.
On November 13, he expanded the narrative with the bittersweet ‘I Can’t Make You Love Me‘ and the B-side ‘Started Over‘, a tender examination of heartbreak, perspective, and the fragile optimism found in beginning again. These singles mapped the emotional terrain that undux would delve into fully – the tension between holding on and letting go, between confusion and clarity.
At the center of the album sits ‘Obvious‘, the project’s focus track and its emotional heartbeat. Featuring Kaskade’s own vocals and written from a first-person perspective, it stands as one of his most vulnerable works to date – a blend of dance-floor rhythm, quiet self-reflection, and the soul-stirring sound design that has defined his career.
undux has always been about connection through subtraction. From the string of shows I did to the full length album, I’ve tried to strip everything to it’s base layer and understand the beauty of walking through feelings and experiences without getting lost in the reverberations. Undux is a starting point and like with most things in life, it’s not obvious what that start will lead to but I’m excited to share that journey with my listeners.
