On the newest episode of The Martin Garrix Show, Garrix reveals he was inspired to make music thanks to Tiësto’s 2004 Olympics performance. The rest of the episode is then a flashback to Garrix’s 2018 South Korea visit, where he closed for the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics— A full circle moment for electronic music in the main stream, indeed.
Garrix walks into one of the stadiums and sees the Olympic Flame alongside South Korean DJ and Producer Raiden, after jesting that the surrounding scenery more closely resembles Miami than a “winter wonderland.” Fans watch as Garrix rehearsed for the big performance whilst his team around him toyed with the visuals. Following his Olympic triumph, the episode ends on a happy note, with the Dutch musician and his entourage grab a celebratory bite to eat.
