Martin Garrix Returns to His Roots with New EP ‘ORIGO’

Notorious DJ and producer Martin Garrix has released his long-awaited EP ‘ORIGO’ via STMPD RCRDS, a progressive journey that takes us back in time. The project features seven previously released singles alongside a new focus track with Saksham, ‘Ain’t Letting You Down’. With an all-star lineup including AFROJACK, David Guetta, Alesso, Armin van Buuren, and Matisse & Sadko, ORIGO celebrates Martin’s roots that we all fell in love with.

ORIGO

The title ‘ORIGO’ means “origin,” representing Garrix’s creative return to the foundation that defined his early years. Following ‘Sentio’ and ‘IDEM’, this EP completes his trilogy of club-focused projects. As Garrix explains:

“My career began with club music, and this EP reflects that journey — it’s the missing piece that connects everything and takes fans to where it all began.”

The Journey Through ‘ORIGO’

The EP opens with ‘Ain’t Letting You Down’, a emotional journey carried by Scott Quinn’s vocals and Saksham’s collaborative production. It begins softly with a piano melody before ascending into Garrix’s signature progressive drop, offering that blissful moment all Garrix fans know well. The EP then transitions into ‘Peace of Mind’ where the tone changes with a groovy bass synth that takes the stage until it breaks to vocals that speak of chasing highs and a peace of mind. Lush synths of Martin’s original production follow for another timeless ‘ORIGO’ drop.

The EP rhythm deepens with ‘Our Time, a massive collab of industry leaders AFROJACK, David Guetta, and Amel. It ignites with a clear message of living in the moment and drops with Garrix’s festival power. ‘Inside Our Hearts’ continues that emotional climb, blending Alesso’s melodic sound design with Garrix’s sky-reaching synths. It’s a song about holding on through chaos and rediscovering love in the middle of the storm.

‘ORIGO’ Continued…

The energy heightens with ‘Sleepless Nights’, a collaboration with Armin van Buuren featuring Libby Whitehouse. Her emotional vocals tell a story of longing nights that transforms into a fast-paced surge of adrenaline. As the synths race forward, the track mirrors the restless energy of its title. ‘Set Me Free’, a drum & bass addition, follows with its cinematic space, echoing the emotional tension between control and release. The powerful drum patterns and towering synths make it one of the EP’s most artistic additions.

Voodoo’ shifts the tone darker with its ritualistic rhythm and ritual vocal vibes. A heavy synth and obvious percussion push the track into late-night territory, showing Garrix’s mastery of dancing drums. Lastly, The project closes with ‘Butterflies’, a luminous collaboration with Matisse & Sadko featuring BARBZ. Her euphoric voice floats over swelling chords, closing the EP with freedom energy, just watch the world go by as a butterfly would. The track feels like a transformation in motion, a sonic release that locks in the happy spirit of ‘ORIGO’ perfectly.

Altogether, the wishful love stories, unforgettable fesitval sets, and the early career of Martin Garrix that took the world by storm – is masterfully packed all into one EP, ‘ORIGO.’ Bravo, Martin.

What is Martin Garrix up to now?
