EDM Artist and international sensation Martin Garrix got vulnerable on a recent podcast. The producer and DJ sat down to discuss upcoming projects, and struggles with touring. This is yet another opportunity to discuss the crazy lifestyle of a musician and its effects on mental health, both positive and negative.
Touring Struggles
Garrix earnestly agreed that although he loves touring, it can come constly to his energy levels. It can get overwhelming, which affects the way he can connect with his music from time to time.
“Touring has always been a dream come true, but it’s exhausting”…“You’re always on the move, rarely get proper rest, and there’s little time to reflect or recharge.”
Martin Garrix
The artist explained more in depth that the cycles of touring and producing and always anticipating the next project has taken tolls on him. Nonetheless, the 28-year old has been in the industry for over a decade, inspiring crowds all over the world. His most recent words have resonated in social media and have ammased the support from listeners.
However, this is a great opportunity for Garrix to step back and spend more time in the studio. He expressed that he has been working with some great artists and he will get back to writing some pop edm anthems. As we know, some of his major tracks like ‘In the Name of Love’ ft. Bebe Rexha and ‘Scared to be Lonely’ ft. Dua Lipa were massive hits.
As celebrities are more vocal about their struggles during creative processes, we can’t wait to see more of Garrix after a most deserved recovery and rest from touring.
