Two years ago, Medasin‘s debut album, Irene, turned heads across the electronic music landscape. His soothing tropical sound washed over the industry, and separated the emerging American artist from the sea of producers. As a result, Medasin garnered well-deserved critical and commercial success, including the designation of Dancing Astronaut‘s breakout artist of 2018. Now, Medasin returns with a highly anticipated follow up, his sophomore album RIPPLS.
RIPPLS maintains Medasin’s well-known lush producing style, but stylistically breaks away from Irene from time to time. For instance, the featured artist list increased up to five, most notably including Naomi Wild on a track destined for festival main stages, and up-and-coming rapper Duckwrth for the duo’s third collaboration to date.
