Brazilian rising star KAF3R is making serious waves in the global electronic scene with the release of his explosive new single “Wow” on Adam Beyer’s Truesoul. In this exclusive interview, KAF3R opens up about the creative process behind his Truesoul debut, how persistence led to his breakout collaboration “Lost in Space” with Konstantin Sibold, and why balancing goals with flow keeps his career on track.
Tell us how ‘Wow’ your excellent debut on Truesoul came together. Do you go in with a plan or just let things flow?
It was great for me to be releasing it through truesoul, especially a track that was so special to me, as it received support from great artists like Vintage Culture and Adam Beyer. The release went well because the track had already been tested on the dancefloor before and always showed a very strong energy on the dancefloor.
You first came to prominence via ‘Lost in Space’, your standout collaboration with Konstantin Sibold. How does an emerging producer score such an incredible hook-up?!
I believe you need to believe in your potential and your sound. You can never stop sending songs you believe in as references, that’s how the collaboration with Konstantin Sibold came about. I had already sent some tracks to him and Kevin de Vries via email, and one of them was “Lost in Space,” which Konstantin Sibold wanted to do a collaboration on.
Who are your production heroes?
For me they are: Vintage Culture, Kevin de Vries, John Summit and Adam Beyer.
What’s a dream bit of studio gear you’d like to add to your collection?
I would really like to have a synthesizer. I really like this kind of analog sound, so a synthesizer like a Mini Moog or something like that would be fascinating.
Do you set career goals and try to manifest certain things or just let things flow? If so, what would you like to achieve in 2025?
I think there’s a balance between the two. It’s good to set goals to know what you want, but it’s also important to let some things flow, because not everything depends exclusively on us; sometimes there are things that depend on time and construction, so we should enjoy the process. Setting goals can sometimes be a limitation.
Outside of music, what sort of hobbies or practices do you both have to keep balance in your life?
I usually play football with my friends, I really like watching and also playing Counter Strike and also spending time with my family and girlfriend.
Share a musical recommendation you can’t stop listening to.
Depeche Mode’s music has a big influence on my productions so I think I would recommend them, especially the song “Strangelove”.
What’s coming up next in terms of your studio projects?
I’ve been preparing several special collaborations with major artists on the scene, as well as powerful remixes that are already circulating on dance floors around the world. Get ready for strong emotions and many energetic tracks.
Where are you from in Brazil? Tell us about the scene there and some highlight clubs we should check out and any other emerging artists we should have on our radar.
I’m from southern Brazil, specifically in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The electronic music scene here has many opportunities but is still moving toward better times. In central Brazil, such as São Paulo and neighbouring states, electronic music has been proliferating strongly, and that’s very good. This positive movement is coming with clubs like Green Valley, Dedge, Surreal Park, Laroc, and others. I would recommend Moonphazes, Knorst, and Castro as artists to keep on your radar.
What’s your most anticipated in 2025 that fans should check out?
I am very happy to say that because of these releases I am doing I am booking shows for central Brazil and also internationally for the end of this year 2025
Anything else you’d like to share?
I want to convey a message that people should believe in what they dream and pursue it without being afraid of what may come or what they will have to face. Life is here for us to learn and also to serve others.
