Despite the chaos unfolding across the global events circuit, spring is here and that calls for some feel-good tunes. Mild Minds is seemingly embracing the season with his debut LP MOOD, released Odesza‘s Foreign Family Collective and Counter Records. MOOD features warm and soothing production overlaid with Mild Minds’ soft vocals. Overall, the album pairs well with a cold drink in the warm sun, and it’s a strong debut from the Melbourne-native producer. Mild Minds explained the process behind the album in a press release,
“The intention was to find inspiration in the world outside of music and create immediately as that inspiration hit. I wanted to play with the moods of current affairs and humanity, allow myself to feel something intense and then create a track to represent it in an abstract way. Some of my favorite music doesn’t adhere to a particular genre, so that’s something I also wanted to do with this album, bringing together pieces from many different genres.”
MOOD was preceded by opening track “MOVEMENTS” and standout track “WALLS” featuring Boats. It is Mild Minds’ second release with Foreign Family Collective following his debut EP SWIM.
