Molac’s ‘Sacred Hoop’ Receives Two Staggering Remixes On EP’s Side B

Two scorching new remixes come your way, for a new chapter of Alquimia Recordings.

You guys are already familiar with the concept of ‘Sacred Hoop’, the brand-new single from Molac. While the original version was released a fortnight ago on his very own Alquimia, it very recently saw two new reinterpretations of it, from a handful of very distinguished talents in the industry.

While Side A contained the original ‘Sacred Hoop’ plus a staggering remix from Nicolas Viana, Side B is made up of two reworks, one by Buenos Aires-based Nathan Katz, and the other by Organic House prowess Poli-Poli, making for an interesting and exciting bouquet of new angles and textures.

Molac — Sacred Hoop (Side B)

The package brings a new twist on Molac’s future classic, imprinting flavours from all over into its melody. And while an original track and three remixes might sound a bit overkill on paper, in practice it’s been executed to perfection. Each track reuses elements from the OG ‘Sacred Hoop’ and takes them to an entirely new world, carefully crafted by each remixer. As Molac himself refers to it:

Each of the guest artists has immense talent and a unique style. I sincerely invite you to dive deeper into their work, there’s so much to discover in their music.

-Molac, original author of ‘Sacred Hoop’

‘Sacred Hoop (Nathan Katz Remix)’

Groovy and powerful, longtime friend and collaborator of Molac Nathan Katz takes things up a notch, with an unmistakably Nathan flair. With his unique groove, he transports the track into a more earthy and organic territory, while still respecting the Progressive roots from the original. You can still note some techniques key to Progressive House in here, such as the long delays and oddly textured beds, a nod to Molac’s modular character.

‘Sacred Hoop (Poli-Poli Remix)’

Poli-Poli, meanwhile, brought in one of her favourite vocalists, Lumiö, and crafted an incredible sunset-style rework, more melodic, emotional, and intimate. The perfect companion to Nathan’s extrovert version is Poli-Poli’s introspective, almost confession-resembling take, with warm synths, analogue basslines, and an entirely new breakdown portraying a proper fly-away moment. It’s a journey by itself.
