fter three years and a string of blockbuster singles, LA-based producer, DJ, and label owner NGHTMRE returns with his highly anticipated sophomore album, MINDFULL. Released on his own Gud Vibrations label in partnership with BMG, the 14-track project is a deeply personal and artistic statement on finding peace and presence in an increasingly chaotic, digitally saturated world.
Known for his genre-bending collaborations, NGHTMRE (real name Tyler Marenyi) has built a reputation for massive hits like ‘REDLIGHT’ with A$AP Ferg and the iconic ‘GUD VIBRATIONS’ with SLANDER. On MINDFULL, he reunites with Ferg for the energetic trap single ‘Torch’ while bringing in a diverse lineup of new collaborators, including UK grime legend Flowdan, Crankdat, Blanke, Soltan, and Grammy-nominated producer Bekon.
According to NGHTMRE, the album’s core concept is the internal battle of being ‘mind full’ versus being mindful. ‘It’s about the internal battle of finding peace in a world that’s constantly fighting to grab your attention and bombard you with content from every direction,’ he explains. ‘Music has always been a source of stillness and bliss amidst the chaos of life. MINDFULL is about following my creative inspiration and ignoring outside noise.’
Over the past five months, NGHTMRE has been teasing the album’s direction through a series of diverse singles, building global anticipation at major festivals like Tomorrowland, EDC Las Vegas, and ULTRA. The album’s journey began with the high-energy trap anthem ‘Torch’ with Ferg and Bekon, followed by the nostalgic Future Bass throwback ‘Buried a Friend.’ He then unleashed the relentless drum & bass anthem ‘Up Top’ with Flowdan and Sully, before dropping one of his heaviest tracks yet, ‘Type Sh*t,’ with Crankdat and rapper Duke Deuce. The final single, ‘Everybody Knows,’ is a heavy-hitting dubstep track infused with reggae, showcasing the album’s vast sonic range.
