Nicole Moudaber makes her highly anticipated debut on Eli Brown’s Arcane imprint with ‘I’ve Been Waiting for You’, a sultry, vocal-led techno anthem dripping with attitude. This latest release sees Moudaber slow the tempo but dial up the intensity with a deliciously chunky bassline and commanding vocal performance from MNENE, one half of the UK duo House of Molly.
Widely known as one of the original rockstars of electronic music, Nicole Moudaber has shaped the global dance music scene for decades. From her influential label MOOD Records to her boundary-pushing events and acclaimed radio show, she’s a powerhouse dedicated to both her craft and championing women in music.
Her latest creation is a celebration of hedonism, queerness, and glamour—brought to life by MNENE’s captivating vocals. The duo first teamed up on the hit ‘Slap Back’ via Higher Ground, and now they elevate their collaboration to new heights. Speaking about the release, Moudaber shared:
“This is a special one for me. I played it as the outro during my visual show at Brooklyn Mirage: Ankh Unveiled last year and it really slapped, so I decided to make it into a full track. The vocals are from MNENE and they’re epic. I wanted to create some heavy, hard-hitting sounds that would really build this sense of magnificence.”
The track opens with a jittery, rumbling percussion ensemble and oscillating low-end, building tension as MNENE’s vocals soar over the groove. Each drop evolves ruggedly, stripping back the vocals while the powerful bassline takes firm control, cruising relentlessly to a dramatic close.
‘I’ve Been Waiting for You’ marks the first of two singles from Moudaber on Arcane before summer’s end. If this release is any indication, the next one is already set to dominate the charts.
