Getting behind the decks no longer requires a significant financial investment. Numark has officially introduced two new affordable controllers tailored for beginner and mobile DJs: the Party Mix III and the ultra-portable MixTrack Go, priced at $149 and $99, respectively.
Both units integrate features typically reserved for more advanced professional workflows, including Stems control, Bluetooth MIDI, and Fade FX, all housed within compact, user-friendly designs. According to Numark’s official announcement, these models are now available through authorized retailers.
Party Mix III: Stems and Integrated Lighting
The Party Mix III serves as an evolution of Numark’s popular entry-level series. It features a classic two-deck layout, responsive capacitive jog wheels, and eight performance pads per deck. These pads allow users to manage Hot Cues, Loops, Samplers, and Stems, while dedicated buttons for Instrumental and Acapella tracks enable real-time audio manipulation.
True to the series’ reputation, the controller includes a built-in, beat-synced LED light show. Additionally, the unit is equipped with Beat Align indicators to assist novices in mastering manual beatmatching, alongside essential three-band EQ, filters, and dedicated audio outputs.
MixTrack Go: Portability Meets Performance
For DJs prioritizing mobility, the MixTrack Go offers a streamlined alternative. Weighing only 1.32 pounds, it stands as the most compact controller in the current Numark lineup. Despite its size, it retains core functionality including capacitive jog wheels, performance pads, Stems controls, and a built-in audio interface.
Both controllers offer versatile connectivity, supporting Bluetooth MIDI for wireless control with smartphones and tablets, or traditional USB-C connections. They are compatible with Algoriddim djay and Serato DJ Lite, with further support for Serato DJ Pro and VirtualDJ via separate licensing. Because they are USB-C powered, they can be operated using a laptop, tablet, or even a portable power bank.
It is important to note that the Bluetooth functionality is strictly for MIDI control; audio must still be monitored through the connected device. For those taking their first steps into DJing or seeking a highly portable secondary setup, these controllers provide a low-barrier entry into the craft.
