This summer’s hottest hip-house banger, ‘Cash Out’ has received a fresh coat of paint from Australian rising star, Odd Mob. A collaboration between the Grammy-nominated tech house duo, SIDEPIECE, and Brooklyn rap icon, Bobby Shmurda, the track is a slick, modern reimagining of Shmurda’s explosive 2014 hit. SIDEPIECE first debuted ‘Cash Out’ in a viral moment at this year’s EDC Las Vegas cosmicMEADOW stage, at which they brought Shmurda on to perform the track live.
Odd Mob’s remix wastes no time taking SIDEPIECE’s club ready tech house groover to another level with his signature crisp production and roaring bass stabs he’s known so well for. The track feels akin to some of Odd Mob’s most beloved remixes, like John Summit’s ‘palm of my hands’ and Sub Focus’ ‘Push The Tempo.’ While the original rides on a rolling tech house groove, Odd Mob injects palpable tension into his remix. The buildup is tight, layering crisp percussion and distorted synths until it all takes off into a thunderous final drop. ‘Cash Out’ isn’t just a remix, it’s Odd Mob throwing gas on a track that was already on fire.
