One Night Records Set To Be London’s First Socially Distanced Music Venue

Londoners may find themselves at a live music event sooner rather than later. Music venue, One Night Records recently announced a series of socially-distanced music events scheduled for later this year.

The “Lockdown Town” event series will take place at a secret venue only accessible through a maze of hidden tunnels. Groups of up to four people can expect to hear local artists play live music from the 1920s to the 1950s. Genres range from rock and roll, jazz, ragtime, country, blues, and more.

Social Distancing Guidelines at One Night Records

To comply with government laws, organizers have set social distancing guidelines to keep attendees safe.

All groups will be required to stay at least 2.5 meters away from other parties. In addition to increasing ventilation in the event space, the venue will also provide hand sanitizer and masks that must be worn at all times. Eventgoers will also choose specific time slots for entry, and must order their food ahead of time and pick it up at a drive-thru window.

We’re going to do it safely, but we’re going to get people back together and we’re going to give them an amazing night,” says Tim Wilson, the managing director of One Night Records, in a statement. “The social distancing is part of the show so guests won’t notice it. We want to give Londoners something to book now and to look forward to.”

London is still under lockdown, with new laws and restrictions announced as recently as the beginning of this month. However, it’s clear that music venues all over the world are looking for ways to bring back the live music industry, even in a socially distanced world.

One Night Records will host events from October 2 through December 31, 2020. Learn more about One Night Records and purchase tickets on their website.
