Rocket League Goes EDM In Second Season

One of the gaming world’s most high-energy sports games, Rocket League, is going EDM in their newest season. EDM songs like “Breathing Underwater” by Hollywood Principle serving as the current anthems for the immensely popular sports game. The new season’s theme of music is a match made in heaven. The new season is set to start on December 9.

rocket-leagueNew songs from Monstercat and original music from Kaskade will be included in season two. The first new track, “Flip Reset” by Kaskade with WILL K, is a feature in the official season two trailer. The exact number of new tracks is unknown at this time, but Rocket League says to “be on the lookout for new music all season long.”

Player Anthems

One new feature of note to EDM fans is the player anthem customization option. When a player scores a goal, the player anthem option allows the player to broadcast their favorite track off the Rocket League playlist for all to hear. In addition to the ball and goal explosion customizations already present, the player can now add their own unique sound feature to the celebration.

Neon Fields

The new arena available for play, titled Neon Fields, is the spitting image of an EDM festival’s main stage. Parallel to the iconic soccer field, a massive audience gathers around a multi-colored stage and DJ booth. A number of unique festival images can be seen in the crowd like a giant, crowd-surfing rubber ducky, glowsticks, or patriotic flags.

New Features in Season 2

The Season 2 Rocket Pass includes a variety of music-themed antennae, car toppers, and other customization options. Also included in the pass is a new playable car, the R3MX. The new season also brings back the fan-favorite Rocket Labs level as a casual, limited time play option. Additional updates also include new competitive rewards, challenges, and quality of life improvements.
