Just weeks after his outing on Toolroom Trax, FLAMENCA Records boss STBAN returns to home territory with his latest single ‘PA’SIEMPRE’. Originally a delicate, evocative slice of flamenco house, the track is given a more progressive reworking thanks to a remix from producer Raffa FL.
The Italian weaves a haunting topline vocal from famed Spanish flamenco and fusion singer Aroa Fernández into bristling trumpets from Enriquito Trompeta, chugging percussion and Josemi Carmona’s shimmering guitar sections, creating an increasingly taut sense of energy as the track evolves. Every element of the single is precisely crafted, a less is more strategy that depends on flawless instrumentation and a muted but relentless energy.
“When I first heard the original track, I felt an immediate connection with its vocal energy and rhythmic foundation,” Raffa FL said. “My approach was to preserve that emotional essence while taking it to a darker, more club-oriented space, with raw percussion and deep basslines. I wanted the remix to have that hypnotic groove that makes you keep dancing, without losing the identity of the original.”
Raffa FL is no stranger to the global house scene. Making his debut on FLAMENCA Records, the producer has previously released on Toolroom Records, Lost Records, Roush, Definition:Music, OFF Recordings and Material, with support from Droog, Russ Yallop, Sidney Charles, Matthias Tanzmann, Hector Couto, Cuartero and more.
Renowned for her unique way of blending styles like flamenco and jazz with more modern electronic genres, Aroa Fernández has already collaborated with a raft of mainstream artists including El Maka, Dellafuente, La Plazuela, Pepe y Vicio, El Barrio and Los Chicos. She’s equally in demand within the world of traditional and neo-flamenco, sharing stages with Marina Heredia, Chico Pérez, Jorge Pardo, Carlos Benavent, Ketama and Diego del Morao.
