Ticketmaster To Check Vaccine Status In Order To Attend Concerts

Ticketmaster is planning on checking COVID vaccination statuses prior to entering a concert venue – once a vaccination is approved and distributed. This announcement came just days after Pfizer announced the phase three trial of their vaccine is more than 90 percent effective, making it increasingly plausible that this technique would be viable in the near future.

As the COVID-19 pandemic proliferated throughout the world, all entertainment venues abruptly grounded to a halt. All the world’s major music festivals either canceled or postponed; concerts, bars, and clubs all closed their doors indefinitely.

As the summer and fall months progressed, we remained patient. Endlessly waiting for the day when our favorite artists would start performing live again. While we are not at that moment yet, the end is certainly in sight.

The pandemic isn’t entirely going away anytime soon, but concert-goers got some positive news today.

Ticketmaster Requirement

According to a report, concert-goers will need a lab to send either negative test results or vaccine status to companies such as Health Pass by CLEAR – ultimately corroborating the fan’s status to Ticketmaster.

We’re still months away from the release of a vaccine. Pfizer’s expecting to produce up to 50 million doses of its vaccine for global distribution by the end of the year. The process and order of who will be first in line to get the vaccine are still ambiguous. It’s not too ambitious to speculate that concert venues will slowly start opening their doors in 2021.

These long months have consisted of virtual concerts from all our favorite artists. While they help pass the time, it leaves one with a nostalgic feeling for the past. If this tactic from Ticketmaster is eventually rolled out, it won’t be long until live in-person shows become a reality again.
