Earlier this week, Tomorrowland Winter was canceled as a result of fears regarding the spreading coronavirus. Tomorrowland Winter was not the only victim, with Miami’s infamous Ultra Music Festival shortly following.
The ski resort where Tomorrowland Winter was set to be held will continue to operate, and attendees are welcome to vacation and hit the slopes. The festival was forced to cancel because of the French government’s tightening of control over large events and festivals that attract a significant audience.
“The French Government is taking drastic measures regarding the COVID-19 virus in France,” the festival announced in a statement. “Therefore they are enforcing the cancellation of large events, bringing together people from different nationalities on closed festival grounds and event locations.”
For those who elect to not attend the resort this year, full refunds are offered, along with an expected £50 discount in the Tomorrowland merch store, and early access to buy discounted tickets to next year’s edition and Belgium’s flagship festival in the summer.
