You may be familiar with big party speakers like the JBL Partybox and Soundboks 4, but did you know there’s also a ground-shaking wireless subwoofer that you can add to your setup? A company called Trulli sent us their Bass50 wireless subwoofer to test out and we don’t know how we could live without it after trying it out.
The Trulli Bass50 emerges as a groundbreaking solution in a market saturated with compromises, billing itself as the world’s first truly portable, battery-powered subwoofer with premium, installation-free performance. Designed by Trulli Audio, this all-in-one unit aims to deliver powerful, low-frequency sound wherever it’s needed—from a car trunk to a backyard party or a live DJ set. At its core is a 10-inch driver powered by Trulli’s patented ThinDriver™ Technology, which allows the subwoofer to maintain a slim profile without sacrificing output. This innovative design integrates the amplifier, DSP, wireless receiver, and a rechargeable lithium iron phosphate battery into a single, portable enclosure. On the spec sheet, the Bass 50 is impressive, boasting 600 watts of continuous power (peaking over 1,000W), a maximum output of 122 dB, and a deep frequency response ranging from 20Hz to 225Hz. It offers versatile connectivity through Bluetooth, 3.5mm AUX, USB-C, and SKAA Pro technology, making it a versatile and powerful option for audiophiles on the move.

Stacking a Bass50 with a party speaker like the ones mentioned above means you can put together a party on the scale of a real event. The only downside is the limited number of places where you can blast music to this extent without annoying neighbors. We took the Bass50 along with our trusty Soundboks 4 to the Florida Keys to test it out.
I have to admit, this was a new category for me as a pure hobbyist. I tested the Bass50 out initially by itself just to see what it was about. You’ll quickly get the idea that this is just an accessory for another speaker, as it only handles the basslines. Another thing to know right off the bat is that this sub will not pair with just any bluetooth speaker. You need a party speaker (or any speaker) that features SKAA wireless technology. SKAA is a technology that allows wireless pairing of speaker devices almost automatically. You set your speaker to host mode and your Bass50 can be set to automatically pair. If you have another party speaker you can pair all 3 together seamlessly.
The Bass50 comes with its own app to allow more detailed adjustments of the device also. You’ll pair your speaker and the Bass50 to your phone. Then you connect the speaker and the Bass50 through SKAA and you’re set to go. It gives you that ability to feel the bass like you would at a club or a music festival, a feeling you almost certainly aren’t getting in your personal setup normally. The Bass50 is certainly a bit heavy, but it does come with a very sturdy handle. There’s also a special universal port you can buy, which helps direct and amplify the subwoofer effects. That being said, if you have this level of setup, you’re probably well past a casual listener. Between the Soundboks 4, Bass50, and the universal port, you’re going to need an SUV or pickup truck to move all of the equipment. It’s portable, to a point, but it definitely gets the job done. There’s even a pole sold so that you can stack the Bass50, the universal port, and your speaker all in one like at a real party.
Listening to the Soundboks 4 paired with the Bass50 on the waters of Key Largo felt incredible. We took it out on a boat and the entire boat vibrated as the subwoofer pulsed. When we returned to the dock, we had to turn the Bass50 off because it was too loud and would annoy the neighbors. However, as soon as you turn it off, you hear the difference, and you miss it.
The Bass50 is a very unique device, and if you’re fortunate enough to own one or try one out, you’ll be hard-pressed to ever go back to being without one.
