Oliver Heldens returns to his Heldeep Records on July 18 with ‘Heart Cry,’ a powerful new collaboration with rising UK star Poppy Baskcomb.
Blending ethereal melodic techno with sweeping trance influences, the track stands as one of Heldens’ most emotionally resonant productions to date. Anchored by the poignant vocal line “Can you hear my heart cry for you?”, the track pulses with longing and catharsis, showcasing a side of Heldens that is both introspective and dancefloor-ready.
Poppy Baskcomb, known for her breakout performance on Tiësto’s “Drifting,” as well as collabs with Anyma, Kaskade, and Meduza, delivers a spine-tingling vocal that surges with both vulnerability and strength. Her haunting tone perfectly complements Heldens’ lush arrangement, balancing shimmering synth textures with a deep, driving rhythm. The result is a release that feels expansive and cinematic—a moment of stillness amid the high-energy chaos of the club.
“When I made the initial instrumental idea of this track, it already felt like something special to me, it had this melancholic feel that just grabs you. But when I did a studio session with Poppy and she tried some vocal ideas over the track, I was instantly hooked by her very first idea for it, which sounded almost exactly like how it sounds now on the final version. She just nailed it instantly and took it to another level!” Heldens says.
‘Heart Cry’ marks another standout entry in Heldens’ prolific release schedule, underscoring his ongoing dedication to exploring new musical territory. Through Heldeep Records — which has evolved from a label into a globally respected tastemaker brand — he has promoted forward-thinking collaborations and genre-defying records. Whether under his own name or his techno alias HI-LO, Heldens consistently sets the bar for innovative electronic music.
About Oliver Heldens

Oliver Heldens is one of the most prolific and forward-thinking artists in electronic music, with over 4 billion streams, multiple No. 1 hits, and a sound that blends mainstage house with cutting-edge techno. Since his breakthrough in 2013 with ‘Gecko’—which later became a triple-platinum UK chart-topper with vocals from Becky Hill—Heldens has established a unique space in global dance music under both his own name and his darker, more underground alias, HI-LO.
As a producer, Heldens is known for his fearless creativity and genre-defying collaborations with legends like Nile Rodgers, Kylie Minogue, David Guetta, Armin van Buuren, and Tiësto. His remix credits span pop and electronic royalty, including Dua Lipa, Calvin Harris, Coldplay, Depeche Mode, Jamiroquai, and Justin Timberlake. He also leads a thriving ecosystem of labels—Heldeep Records, OH2, and HILOMATIK—which serve as platforms for both emerging and established talent in house and techno, with releases from ALOK, ZHU, Green Velvet, Chocolate Puma, Eli Brown, and James Hype, among many others.
Through his HI-LO alias, Heldens has become a leading figure in the global techno scene, with notable releases on Drumcode and Filth on Acid, including seven collaborations with Reinier Zonneveld. HI-LO tracks are regularly supported by artists like Carl Cox, Solomun, Charlotte de Witte, Adam Beyer, Tale of Us, and Amelie Lens. In 2025, Oli’s global domination has continued, headlining major events like Ultra Music Festival Miami, Tomorrowland, Creamfields, ÎLESONIQ, The Indianapolis 500, and F1’s Dutch Grand Prix.
Heldens also dominates the airwaves with Heldeep Radio, now with over 575 episodes and syndicated on 180 stations across 55 countries, reaching 80 million monthly listeners.
