Nicole Moudaber Returns to MoodCollective With New EP

Nicole Moudaber is back on her own imprint with a new two-track EP. ‘She Loves My Music feat. POSITIVV / Think About You’ just landed on MoodCollective, the label she’s been steadily building out since launch, and it marks the latest release in a catalog numbered MC018.

The EP leans into the rhythmic, dancefloor-first sound that’s become the signature of MoodCollective releases. Both tracks push further into groove-driven house and tech-house territory, an area Moudaber has been carving out as a counterpart to the techno she’s long been known for on the festival circuit.

‘She Loves My Music / Think About You’ continues that shift away from the harder-edged techno sound that built her reputation, giving listeners another side of her production work. It’s not a departure so much as an expansion — Moudaber has never really stuck to one lane when it comes to her DJ sets, moving fluidly between techno, house, and tech-house depending on the room.

The collaboration with Nigerian artist POSITIVV carries some personal weight for Moudaber. She was born in Ibadan, Nigeria, and the connection wasn’t lost on her when POSITIVV — also from Ibadan — sent over vocal takes for the project.

“I’ve always wanted to connect with Nigeria through my music, but I was waiting for it to happen in the right way,” Moudaber said. “Then Olabode sent me an email with a couple of vocal takes. When I found out he was from Ibadan, the city where I was born, and heard the vocal, it felt like a sign. We had to make something together. That bassline, the groove, and his vocal hitting in that break just became magic. I’ve been playing it in my sets and every single time, the room comes alive. So I guess she really does love my music.”

POSITIVV echoed that sentiment, saying the track grew into something beyond what he expected. “Working with Nicole on this record has been an incredible experience,” he said. “I love how she took the original idea and transformed it with her own signature sound while keeping the emotion and spirit of the vocal intact. Hearing people go crazy when Nicole plays it makes me even more excited for what’s ahead.”

With this release, Moudaber shifts the spotlight back onto her own production work rather than the label’s broader roster, delivering two tracks built around the core idea behind MoodCollective: rhythm, energy, and the shared experience of the dancefloor.
