Matty Ralph Returns With Euphoric New Single, ‘Rhythm’

The promise of Trance is back with another striking track.

Matty Ralph, man, we can’t really get enough of his sound. Blending sounds of Classic Trance, Techno, Rave, and many more influences, he’s grown to produce a sound that is as nostalgic as it is forward-looking. For when you want to cry on the dancefloor but not too much, he’s got you covered, with beats that will have you moving side to side.

Last week, he unveiled a striking new track, the first one after his Insomniac debut ‘IDGAF’, ‘Rhythm‘. Released on Rave Alert Records, the piece follows his connecting thread of party sounds with the intent of going back and dancing away.

“To me, the goal is to bring this to a newer generation of ravers, it would be cool, not to ‘bring the sound back‘ necessarily, but reinvent it and make it big again, and hopefully inspire other artists to follow suit and start making their sound.”

‘Rhythm’

This one is a rave bomb. Something to blast the speakers to when you want pure energy, nothing but raw power. And rhythm (roll credits). From the very beginning, a powerful kick lands on every beat, while 909 drumkits paint the picture, a picture that screams 90s, lasers, smoke, and euphoria.

This track has it all to take you back in time in style. I can recognise bubbly uplifters, raw screeches, transient-heavy hi-hats, reverb kicks, decimated textures, a main saw lead detuned and pitch-automated… It’s wonderful. I can almost taste the grace of the yesteryear Ibiza. It’s a simple formula, but a powerful one. It’s got a great hook that makes you, in Matty’s own words, “want to listen to that track again and again and again“, as per our exclusive interview with him. Class.
