The GRAMMY-winning trio Rüfüs Du Sol returned to Canada last week with two sold-out shows as part of their Inhale/Exhale album tour—and it was truly a night to remember. The band last performed at Toronto’s Budweiser Stage in 2023 alongside Monolink, but this year’s return was even more spectacular. From the sound system to the production, everything was top-notch. Weeknight shows can be a challenge, but Rüfüs fans showed up in full force, with some traveling from across the border—including friends from Buffalo and beyond. Joining Rüfüs Du Sol for both nights was the UK-based electronic duo Overmono, adding even more energy to an unforgettable experience.
Inhale/Exhale
Would it really be the Inhale/Exhale tour if the setlist wasn’t split into ‘Inhale’ and ‘Exhale’? True to form, the band kicked off both nights with the ‘Inhale’ half, seamlessly blending in ‘Brighter’ to set the tone. From the first minute, the crowd was singing along. Each night’s first half featured 14 songs, with a few subtle differences. On night one, ‘Desert Night’ made the cut, while ‘The Life’ replaced it on night two. Another variation was the mix of ‘New Sky’ and ‘Take Me’ on the first night, swapped out for ‘Edge of the Earth’ on the second.
The production and laser visuals elevated the experience, creating a journey that built toward the emotional peak of ‘Exhale’. My personal highlights were ‘Underwater’ and of course ‘Innerbloom,’ —can you even call it a Rüfüs show without it? As the show neared its end, the crowd buzzed with anticipation for the encore. Rüfüs delivered three beautiful tracks: ‘Break My Love,’ ‘No Place,’ and a stunning blend of ‘Music Is Better,’ and ‘Be With You,’ closing the night on a perfect note. I remember when ‘Music Is Better’ first dropped—it was good, but it took time to grow on me. Hearing it live changed everything. Watching my friends gather for their favorite artist, smiling through the night, reminded me that music really is better—and it makes the world better too.
I’ve always been a sucker for Rüfüs Du Sol—and last week’s show was nothing short of perfect. You couldn’t ask for a better night. The trio is currently touring across North America, with upcoming weekend stops in Aspen, Commerce City, and West Valley City. If you haven’t seen them live yet, now’s the time. Join the rest of us on the brighter side and experience the magic for yourself. Check out the remaining tour dates and cities—you won’t regret it.
