• Wiz Khalifa meets Hard Techno energy
• Iconic vocal loop reimagined for the club
• A clean, modern twist on a classic hit
And of course we needed a Techno rework of this Wiz Khalifa banger. “Black and Yellow” is one of the most recognizable tracks in hip hop, and easily one of my childhood favorites. Every few years, a producer tries their hand at reworking a legendary tune for whatever’s trending: trap, Brazilian Bass, phonk, you name it. This time, MUGLI PROJECT steps in with a Hard Techno version that actually feels alive.
What I really like is that it’s not just a lazy re-edit. You can tell there’s been care in how the track was rebuilt. The main pattern stays true to the original, but the integration into a Techno framework is surprisingly smooth. The iconic “yeah, ahaaa” loop hits just like it should, and somehow fits perfectly into the build-up. When the drop lands, it’s fast, melodic, and ridiculously catchy. I didn’t expect the melody to work this well on a Techno lead, but it does, and now it’s completely stuck in my head.
The kick deserves a mention too. It’s not Hardstyle-level heavy, but still hits with a thick, bouncy punch. Ten years ago, this could’ve been called Melbourne Bounce, but here it slots right into modern Hard Techno with confidence. There’s movement, drive, and plenty of air around the percussion.
Most of all, this feels like a real MUGLI PROJECT track that just happens to feature Wiz Khalifa’s loop, not the other way around. It’s playful, high-energy, and doesn’t overdo anything. A proper club-ready remix that turns nostalgia into something fresh. I’ve already looped it a few times, and it just keeps getting better.
