SAMOH Explores Societal Division in New 'Fractured Society' EP

Dutch producer SAMOH has made a triumphant return to Charlotte de Witte’s KNTXT family, unveiling his latest four-track project, Fractured Society. Released via the label’s RPM imprint, the EP serves as a follow-up to his successful February debut, Changing Worlds. While the production remains uncompromisingly club-ready, the record carries a weightier thematic undertone, reflecting the artist’s observations on a world increasingly defined by exclusion and systemic tension.

A Dystopian Soundscape

Operating out of his studio in Rotterdam—a space he describes as an underground nuclear bunker—SAMOH has crafted a sound that balances high-energy acid, techno, and trance elements with a darker, more introspective atmosphere. For the producer, the studio is a sanctuary where he can disconnect from external pressures and refine his craft. This isolation allowed him to channel the frustrations of a divided world into raw, driving grooves and dystopian soundscapes.

The concept for Fractured Society emerged organically rather than through a rigid plan. During his experimental sessions, a specific vocal sample sparked a vision of a world where truth is increasingly obscured. “It began more from a feeling while experimenting with a vocal sample that immediately gave me this image of a fractured world where people slowly stop knowing what’s true anymore,” SAMOH explains. This emotional thread connected the tracks, creating a cohesive body of work that captures the anxiety and conflict of the current era.

Live Performance and Future Outlook

When asked about his favorite track from the collection, SAMOH points to the title track, Fractured Society. He notes that it perfectly encapsulates his signature style: detuned leads and groovy percussion layered with a mystical, emotional vocal. Because he performs live rather than relying on traditional DJ sets, he often integrates these elements into his stage shows, creating a visceral connection with his audience.

The support from Charlotte de Witte has been a significant milestone for the artist. “Seeing Charlotte support the tracks in her sets and hearing them played in front of massive crowds is a really crazy feeling and also like a dream becoming true,” he says. Looking ahead, SAMOH is focused on the next phase of his career, which includes a forthcoming album, various collaborations, and an improvised live project with KETTING. As he balances a busy summer of festival appearances, including a set at Awakenings, he remains committed to pushing his sound into new, spontaneous territories.
