Above & Beyond and longtime vocalist Zoë Johnston have officially released a comprehensive remix package for their standout track, ‘Quicksand (Don’t Go),’ taken from the trio’s latest album, Bigger Than All Of Us. The collection, which is available now via Anjunabeats, breathes new life into the original production by enlisting a diverse array of talent from across the trance spectrum.
The remix package introduces two brand-new interpretations from Mark Sherry and Ciaran McAuley. These additions join the previously released versions from Sultan + Shepard and Ben Nicky, creating a four-way reinterpretation that spans the sonic landscape from deep, progressive textures to high-octane tech trance.
A New Direction for ‘Quicksand’
Mark Sherry delivers one of the most aggressive takes on the record. Known for his driving tech trance sound and high-profile performances at festivals like Tomorrowland and A State of Trance, Sherry’s connection to the track is deeply personal. “I was playing at the Dreamstate SoCal event in November 2025 when A&B were on,” Sherry shared. “‘Quicksand’ was easily the standout track of their set. It sent huge shivers down my spine. I’m absolutely delighted to be part of the release. It’s definitely a bucket-list project.”

Conversely, Ciaran McAuley leans into the emotional core of the song. As a prominent figure in the uplifting and vocal trance scene, McAuley brings a melodic sensibility that complements the original’s poignant lyrics. “It’s been not only a dream for younger me, but I’m sure for many trance enthusiasts, to be part of what these guys have done,” McAuley noted. “I’m truly grateful to be a part of this massive single from Above & Beyond and Zoë Johnston.”
The Evolution of a Fan Favorite
The remix package rounds out with the previously released, contrasting takes from Ben Nicky and Sultan + Shepard. Nicky elevates the tempo with a peak-time tech trance rework, while Sultan + Shepard offer a deeper, more progressive perspective on the composition. Since its debut at Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy 600 show in Mexico City, ‘Quicksand (Don’t Go)’ has become a cornerstone of the Bigger Than All Of Us world tour, which has seen massive success with approximately 175,000 tickets sold to date.
