With the new update to iOS 14 and iPad OS 14, Apple will revive the simple, yet addictive quiz game function popularized on old iPods, according to 9to5Mac.
If you once had an iPod with Click Wheel, you might remember a mini-game called Music Quiz, which consists in correctly guessing which song is being played. With iOS 14, Apple has quietly revived this game as a complex shortcut — and it works just like the old version running on iPods.

The activity runs via the shortcuts functions on iOS 14. These steps allow users to set up the Music Quiz:
- Open the Shortcuts app
- Tap the “My Shortcuts” tab
- Use the search bar and look for “Music Quiz”
- Tap the “Music Quiz” shortcut
- Allow the shortcut to access your Apple Music library

Will The Game Be The Same?
To re-familiarize people who forgot (or possibly introduce for the first time) this game worked with the music in your library. The function played a snippet of music from your songs and then provided multiple choice answers of titles for a person to choose from. In the past, correct answers warranted Music Quiz points.
Surprisingly, 9to5Mac reports that the essential functions of the quiz will work precisely like the old games. The game runs directly from the Music app on the phone, so it does require purchased music, songs from Apple Music, or media synced from iTunes on the computer.
The premise is simple. All users need to do is run the Music Quiz mini-game and test their knowledge. There are initially five rounds where the song name, artist, and album artwork are displayed. However, the quiz can continue and players can guess more songs. If you’re incredibly proud of your music knowledge, you can even share scores to social media.
