Alan Walker is back in South Town. The Norwegian producer has released ‘Pain,’ his latest contribution to the Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves soundtrack, marking his second appearance in the fighting game franchise’s ongoing music series.
‘Pain’ pairs British singer-songwriter Jordan Shaw on vocals with Walker’s signature production style — a soaring hook leading into an anthemic, high-impact drop. The track is built to work both as a standalone dance record and as a soundtrack cut tied to the game’s combat and narrative stakes.
This isn’t Walker’s first trip into the Fatal Fury universe. He kicked off the entire soundtrack initiative back in 2025 with ‘Mind of a Warrior,’ a collaboration with SORANA that served as the project’s launch single. ‘Pain’ now arrives as one of the marquee drops for Season 2, following Moontalk’s ‘Sonata,’ which opened that chapter of the soundtrack.
Shaw, for his part, has built a reputation as one of dance music’s more in-demand topliners, breaking through with ‘Something Real’ before lending his voice and songwriting to a run of other releases. His pairing with Walker on ‘Pain’ gives the track an emotional register that sits alongside the drop’s bigger dancefloor moments.
“Following Mind of A Warrior, it was an absolute honor to contribute to the Fatal Fury Season 2 album,” Walker said. “I am deeply grateful every time I get the chance to bridge my passions for gaming and music; it brings a unique sense of inspiration and purpose to the things I love most. It was also incredibly exciting to release a track with Jordan; his vocals are truly amazing!”
The release lands during an active stretch for Walker. His Walkerworld Tour pulled in more than 500,000 fans across its run before closing out in 2025 with a show in New York’s Central Park, and his album Walkerworld 2.0 arrived that same January. At 28, Walker has racked up over 100 billion combined audio and video streams and a global following north of 150 million, numbers that put him among the more commercially dominant names in electronic music regardless of genre lines.
The Fatal Fury soundtrack project is curated by Salvatore Ganacci, who also appears as a playable fighter in the game itself, and has made a habit of recruiting major electronic acts for each new chapter. Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves marks SNK’s first new mainline entry in the franchise since 1999’s Garou: Mark of the Wolves, bringing back the series after a 26-year gap with a new art style and combat system called REV.
